2009 NSRPA Conference Golf Tournament Info and Sign up Deadline !
As you know, we are holding the NSRPA Annual Conference at the Suncoast Hotel and Casino this year. I believe the membership will be pleased with the accommodations at this facility in comparison to previous locations. One of the amenities offered at Suncoast is on site golfing facilities. The conference committee has asked me to look into the possibility of holding a golf tournament during the conference for the membership. There are two excellent courses located within a short distance of the hotel. Angel Park Golf Course is virtually on the same property as the hotel. It features a 27-hole layout including an executive 3-par nine hole course that is lit for night play. The Badlands Golf Course is within 5 minutes walking distance of the hotel and features a standard 18-hole layout. The purpose of this letter is to get an idea as to how many members would be interested in playing in a tournament. Listed below are the rates per player for holding such an event. This will most likely be a standard “scrambles” format. We anticipate offering contests for long drive, closest to the pin, and possibly a hole in one offering. Fees include 18 holes of golf with cart and the usual amenities (sleeve of balls, towels, divot tools, etc). There are 144 slots available for play in a standard 18- hole shotgun start event. The courses are willing to accommodate groups of as few as 32 though the best rates will be available for larger groups. Rates are $50-75 per person depending on the course. There is a $35 option if we play the executive 9 hole at Angel Park. Both facilities have rental clubs available (Callaway X2 sets) for $45-50 if you don’t bring your own. Please send me an e-mail stating your interest in participating as soon as possible so that we may continue arranging the tournament. *Please respond by June 30th! Welcome to www.radiologypa.org

A Radiology Practitioner Assistant (RPA) is a mid-level health care professional that works under the supervision of a radiologist. Weber State University in Ogden, Utah was approached to help develop a curriculum due to their advanced courses in the science of radiology and started the program in 1997. Thereafter, the National Society of Radiology Practitioner Assistants (NSRPA) evolved and has been growing exponentially due to the increasing applicants at Weber State University.

The NSRPA is a non-profit organization that has been established for the RPA to be involved with the medical community as a professional society. The society is an active participant with other organizations and health care professionals to educate and promote the role of the RPA. Furthermore, the NSRPA holds an annual conference conducting seminars and presentations that is open to any member of the medical community.
